PARKS:

  • Fort George Park: Enjoy the city's largest park, which includes a water park, playground, volleyball nets, trails, a train & picnic areas. (Runs 12-4 pm on weekends during the summer). Parking located off of Queensway Blvd. on 20th avenue or 17th avenue. 3 hours
  • Goodsir Nature Park: Bontanical gardens and plant museum. This 160 acre park offers up to 2 hours of easy walking trails. Come visit the beaver pond, muskrats, moose, and waterfowl. Near Huble Homestead. 
    Season: 
    May - October. Open daily 8 am to dusk. 4 hours
  • Cranbrook Hill Greenway: A corridor that encompasses over 300 hectares of natural environment containing 25 kms of multi-use trails, and 4 access points. 
    Year round. Dawn to dusk. 3 hours

  • Golden Raven Cultural Attractions Barkerville Historic Town: Barkerville is a historic site like no other. Unlike many gold rush towns from this era - which have long disappeared - Barkerville remains a thriving place, rich in history and full of life. 

    Open 8:30 am – 8:00 pm daily.Paxton Shuttle provides 10 hour Tours to Barkerville every Saturday.

  •  Railway and Forestry Museum:Open year round. Learn about the railway and forest industries while exploring old railway cars or take a trip on the mini-rail. Located on 850 River Rd. 

    Summer:
     May long weekend to September 1st. 7 days/wk. 10 am - 5 pm. 
    Winter: Tuesday through Saturday. 11 am - 4 pm. 
    Closed during inclement weather. 3 hours
  •  Exploration Place: Open year round. This children's museum and science centre features a hands-on gallery with live animals and puzzles, a SimEx virtual ride, and a play area. Located on Becott Place in historic Fort George Park. 

    Summer: 
    May long weekend to Thanksgiving day long weekend. 7 days/wk. 10 am - 5 pm. 
    Winter: Wednesday through Sunday. 10 am - 5 pm. 
    Open on statutory holidays. 3 hours
  • Noah's Ark Adventure Land: Open year round. Spend some time at the petting zoo, take a hayride or nature walk, play on the playground and amusement ride, or visit the ducks at the duck pond. 

    Summer: 
    July & August. 7 days/wk. 10 am - 6 pm. May, June, Sept., Oct., Dec. Saturdays 10 am - 5 pm. 
    Winter: Dec. 1 - March 1. As weather permits. 3 hours
  •  Huble Homestead: (and Giscome Portage & First Nations Fish Camp) Travel back in time to this fully restored homestead and fur trading post on the banks of the Fraser River. Located 40km North of Prince George on Mitchell Rd. 

    Open 10 am - 5 pm daily from May to September long weekends. 
    Open weekends only from August 31 - October 13. 4 hours
  • Roll-A-Dome: Open year round. Recreational facility hosting everything from ball hockey, lacrosse, soccer, dances, concerts, birthday parties, to wrestling and boxing matches.
  • Bubba Baloo's / Outer Limits Laser Tag: Fun for the whole family with Northern B.C.'s largest indoor adventure playground, an arcade, a snack bar, and laser tag. Located in the Parkhill Mall at 8-556 North Nechako Rd.

  •  Fort St. James Historic Site: Fort St James National Historic Site is a restored Hudson's Bay Company post on the southern shores of Stuart Lake in the interior of British Columbia. It is commemorated as a centre of trade and commerce in the 19th century fur trade.

    Open daily from 9 am – 5 pm : Victoria Day long weekend to Sept. 30.
    Open year round for groups by reservation.
  •  Two Rivers Art Gallery: Open year round. The Two Rivers Gallery is a vital centre for visual art in Prince George. Check out their Exhibitions, art programs and Shopping at the Gallery. 

    Mon., Tues., Wed., Fri. & Sat. 10 am - 5 pm. Sundays and holidays:12 noon - 5 pm. 
    Thursdays: 10 am - 9pm. Free admission 3 pm - 9 pm3 hours

  •  Valley Museum and Archives: Valley Museum and Archives was incorporated in 1985. The intention was to collect and preserve information and artifacts from the Robson Valley. 

    Summer: 10 am – 5 pm Monday to Saturday plus 7 pm – 9 pm Tuesday and 5 pm – 9 pm Friday.
    Winter: Hours are not daily but will be available in the fall.
  •  Whistle Stop Gallery:Open year round.
    The Station is beautifully renovated and is also home to the McBride Visitor Centre and the Beanery 2 Bistro.The Gallery attracts thousands of visitors each year from all over the world. Shoppers, browsers and history buffs can see an incredible range of original artwork created by members of the non-profit Whistle Stop Gallery Society.

    Summer: Whistle Stop Gallery and Visitor Centre: Open daily from 8 am – 7 pm. : Beanery 2 Bistro open Mon. – Fri. 6 am – 5 pm ; Sat. & Sun. 9 am – 5 pm. Closed holidays.

  •  Mackenzie and District Museum: Our museum showcases the heritage and people of Mackenzie, British Columbia.

    Summer: July and August ; Tues. – Sat. 9 am – 5 pm.
    Winter: Sept. – June ; Tues. – Fri. 10 am – 2 pm.
  •  Valemount Museum: The Valemount Museum has something for every member of the family. The museum has three levels in the main building with displays on the Railway (rail camps and towns), a model railroad that even runs through the bathroom, Japanese Internment Camps, War Heroes, Old Children's Toys, Valemount Pioneers, Margaret McKirdy's Little People, James Vanslyk's Art, Valemount Schools, Sewing, an Old Bedroom, Pioneer Kitchen, Early Settlers, Outfitting and an exciting Trapper's Cabin.

    May 15 – June 30 ; Tues. – Sat. 10 am – 5 pm.
